MedicDecode turns medical paperwork into something you can read. You add a lab report, scan report, prescription, discharge summary or medical bill, and it gives you a structured explanation: a summary, a table of what the document shows, the terms defined and questions to take to your doctor.
Who runs it
MedicDecode is built and run by Jamal Hussein, a postgraduate (MSc) student of artificial intelligence. He is not a doctor, nurse or pharmacist, and MedicDecode is not a healthcare provider.
There is currently no medical reviewer. The explanations and the text on this site have not been checked by a qualified health professional. When a qualified reviewer joins, they will be named here with their credentials. See the editorial policy.
How the explanations are made
Explanations are generated by an AI language model. The model is given the redacted text of your document and a fixed set of instructions: explain only what the document says, use the reference ranges printed on the document rather than ones from memory, never diagnose, never recommend treatment or doses, say when something needs a clinician, and list anything it could not read.
The model returns its answer in a fixed structure, which the site checks and then displays as a summary, table, glossary and question list instead of one long block of text.
What to keep in mind
- AI models make mistakes. They can misread a value, miss context or explain something wrongly while sounding confident.
- Text read from photos and scans can contain errors, which then carry into the explanation.
- An explanation of a document is not an assessment of you. Only a clinician who knows your history can say what a result means for you.
- If a document worries you, or you feel unwell, contact your doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Privacy by design
Your file is read in your browser and never uploaded, personal details are removed before anything is sent, and nothing is stored. The details, including which AI provider is used and what that means, are on How we handle your documents and in the privacy policy.
